Ilocos Tour (Day2)

Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte

After spending the night at Vitalis, we headed back north -way back north- to see more awesome destinations that Ilocos offers. We rented a tricycle to reach most of our destinations today which most people do since it would be time-efficient and hassle-free.

Our First stop: Cape Bojeador

Signage along the highway

This is the drop off point since only tricycles are allowed to go up. As far as I know this is for the livelihood of the locals there and also to minimize unwanted garbage that tourists might bring. The tricycle rental would cover Cape Bojeador and Kapurpurawan Rock Formation but we opted to only go to the former because we have other places we plan to visit.

The lighthouse at the peak

On the site itself is a bit of a historical landmark and a cultural heritage that serves as a beacon of light for passing ships and fishermen since the 19th century. Inside there are four rooms which displays artifacts and history of the lighthouse. Visitors are unable to go up to the top of the tower since the spiral staircase is unstable due to heavy rusting. But as we have been told, Philippine Coastguard can still access the tower at their own discretion.

The Views above are absolutely amazing.

Of course no one should miss the famous Bangui Windmills when going to Ilocos Norte. Similar windmill projects are now implemented on other provinces but the ones here in Ilocos are the pioneer of harvesting clean and renewable energy.

We stayed there for a couple of minutes and as the sun went down, the place suddenly turned to a magical and heartwarming venue to appreciate nature and God.

Last stop for the day would be the Patapat Viaduct Bridge that connects Laoag, Ilocos Norte to the Cagayan Valley Region. It is the 4th longest bridge in the Philippines.

The bridge is elevated at 31 meters above sea level and stretches for more than a kilometer.

Ah, the beauty of this place cannot be described by mere pictures and words. You have to experience it yourself for you to understand the feeling. Unravel the world and have fun!

As the day would to a close, we called it a day and headed to our accommodation which is also near to our next destination, Blue Lagoon....

And that folks is a wrap! Thanks for reading and stay tuned for the next content!
